About the Programme:Chemotherapy and biotherapy form a major part of cancer treatment, but is the preparation and administration of these treatments as simple as dispensing a pill or administering an IV? ChemoSAfety is a course that has been developed to empower South African oncology nurses and pharmacists with a deeper understanding of these treatment options, to improve safety standards for all.
Target Audience:This programme is aimed at the following categories of healthcare professionals practicing in South Africa:- Pharmacists with a special interest in oncology- Professional Nurses (oncology trained, or oncology experienced)- Enrolled Nurses, with clinical experience working in the oncology setting and under the direct supervision of trained oncology
Aims and Objectives:The aims of the ChemoSAfety programme are to improve the safety of patients and healthcare professionals involved with Chemotherapy and to reduce medication errors.
